NullaCruising

We are Jax & Amado driving around the world in "Nulla" our 1983 HJ47 Toyota Land Cruiser

Since retiring, we followed our hearts and hit the road! We launched Record Label on Wheels to help artists share their music globally. By traveling, recording, and uplifting musicians we turn beloved rhythms into albums—proving it’s never too late to Live a Bigger Life!

The Origin of Nulla: Transformation of a 1983 LandCruisier for Global Travel

Our bond with Nulla a rugged 1983 HJ47 Toyota Land Cruiser, began in 2009—a purchase that ignited a lifelong ambition to traverse the globe. We transformed her from a simple flatbed with a canvas cover into a self-contained home on wheels, built for the road less traveled.

Early Journeys: Mexico’s Baja Coast to the Arctic Circle

After years of exploring North America, Nulla tasted international salt air for the first time in 2012, venturing from the bustling streets of Los Angeles to the sun-drenched shores of Mexico's Baja Peninsula. The call of the wild pulled us further in 2017, as we drove Nulla through the Yukon of Canada, pushing upward until we stood in the raw beauty of the Arctic Circle in Alaska.

Crossing Oceans: Shipping Nulla to Europe and Driving South to Africa

On December 12, 2018, after nearly ten years of planning and dreaming, Nulla left the Port of Long Beach, sailed the Pacific and crossed the Atlantic. On January 17, 2019, we met Nulla in Zeebrugge, Belgium — a thrilling moment as our dream became real. We then headed south through Belgium, France, and Spain, and took the ferry across the Strait of Gibraltar to Africa.

Falling in Love with Morocco: Souks, Deserts, and Extended Visas (March - July 2019)

Morocco stole our hearts from March to July 2019. What was meant to be three months became five as we fell in love with its culture and landscapes. We lingered in souks, deserts, and coastal towns, until the road finally pulled us onward to the next border.

Finding Our Sanctuary in Fuzetta, Portugal July 2019

In July 2019, we crossed back into Europe, tracing the Iberian coast into Portugal. We found a piece of our spirit in the fishing village of Fuzetta on the Algarve. Camped at the water's edge, we were swept up in a rhythm of golden sunsets, fresh seafood, and melodic nights. Fuzetta became a sanctuary where we lingered for three months, leaving behind friends who felt like family and memories that still tug at our hearts.

Returning Home to Rebuild: Upgrading Nulla During the Pandemic

Ten months of adventure culminated on September 19, 2019, as we returned to Los Angeles. When the world paused during the pandemic, we didn't lose sight of our goal; instead, we channeled that energy back into Nulla. We completely rebuilt her camper and engineered new upgrades, ensuring she would be stronger and more capable than ever for the moment the borders reopened.

July 2022: we set off again, cruising Italy’s old roads, Slovenia’s green forests, and Croatia’s rocky coast. By 2023, a ferry carried us from Genoa to Tangier, and from Morocco’s northern tip we drove down the west coast through 16 countries to South Africa. With every mile we learned: the more we travel, the more the world stays wonderfully mysterious.

Driving Across Europe and Africa: The Birth of a Record Label on Wheels 2022 - 2023

Along the way, our simple travel adventure transformed into something profound: Nulla Cruising: Record Label on Wheels. We’ve documented our journey through 15 albums, turning cultural connections into the very heartbeat of our global community.

Overlanding the Philippines: Building the Bahay Cruiser 2025

In 2025, we launched a bold new chapter, overlanding our homeland, the Philippines. Right hand drive vehicles like Nulla are banned in the Philippines and we purchased and refurbished a 1989 Mitsubishi camper, the Bahay Cruiser.

While our beloved Nulla rests safe and sound, waiting for our reunion in South Africa the journey surges forward. We’re embracing a dual-continent life, alternating between Africa and the Philippines, and even squeezing in a two-month expedition through China this year. It might be a little crazy, but we’re living life on our own terms. Stay tuned!
